SUMMER 2018 | SEASON OF LOVE

ROMEO AND JULIET  * LOVE'S LABOR'S LOST

In this season of love we explore Shakespeare's best known play alongside one of his least. Somewhere at the intersection of both is love with all its heartache and ridiculousness and stomach-churning and tears and bad poetry and good poetry and mostly the deepest truest belief that love is always worth it.

SUMMER 2017 | FINDING A NEW HOME

scenes from JULIUS CAESAR  *  scenes from ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA

This summer we move to our new home in Wilmington, North Carolina as resident artists with the new Alchemical Theatre Company. This year we are doing a bootcamp version, working on scenes from Julius Caesar and Antony and Cleopatra. Next year we will be back with our full program!

SUMMER 2016 | THE SEASON OF FAMILY

MEASURE FOR MEASURE   *   MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING  *   PERICLES

Our inaugural Make Trouble season is all about Family. We have a mighty belief in family here at Make Trouble and we spent a long time considering the spirit of our first season — which combination of plays would reflect our values, would provide challenging performances and theater making possibilities for our students, would be excellent ensemble pieces. Measure for Measure, Much Ado About Nothing and Pericles. We love this season of plays. Families are tested, affirmed, reinforced, betrayed, crushed, lost, and reunited. Brother and sister, father and daughter, husband and wife, cousins, uncles, nieces, soldiers, friends, lovers...family in all its painful and beautiful manifestations. To us, ensemble is family. Shakespeare is family.
